Illegal Immigrants Account for 3/4 of the Arrests in Midtown NYC

A disturbing statistic: 75% of midtown NYC arrests are illegal immigrants. NYC must stop being soft on crime and reclaim public safety.

In an alarming yet unsurprising revelation largely ignored by the mainstream media, an overwhelming majority of recent arrests in Midtown Manhattan—around 75%—involve migrants, highlighting a glaring issue in our urban centers. The situation is similarly dire in Queens, where the figure hovers around 60%. These arrests, spanning from assault to robbery and even domestic violence, underscore a disturbing trend that can’t be overlooked.

The scenario worsens with New York City’s sanctuary laws, which effectively handcuff our police officers, preventing them from cooperating with ICE even when they encounter criminals who clearly violate our national laws. This isn’t just a loophole; it’s a gaping hole in our city’s safety net, creating a haven for criminals at the expense of law-abiding citizens. These sanctuary city statutes have transformed New York into a playground for those who scoff at our laws.

Complicating matters further, there’s a growing perception among migrants that New York’s lenient policies offer a free pass. Arrested individuals are often back on the streets swiftly, with some even mocking the system, claiming that a stint in Rikers is preferable to the brutal incarcerations they’d face in their home countries.

Officers on the ground tell a similar tale of frustration. With hands tied by regulations that forbid inquiring about immigration status, our police are forced to operate blindfolded, unable to fully address the roots of this criminal surge. The situation has become so dire that law enforcement in Queens frequently needs additional Spanish interpreters to handle the influx of migrant cases, illustrating the scale and specific demographics of this issue.

Clearly, the lax border policies championed by the Biden-Harris administration, coupled with New York’s sanctuary laws, are contributing to this untenable situation. It’s high time we acknowledge the simple truth: without secure borders and without the ability to enforce our laws uniformly and effectively, we cannot hope to maintain public safety. Sanctuary city policies have consequences that are undeniably detrimental. It is imperative that we restore sanity to our immigration policies and empower our law enforcement to act decisively against those who would exploit our generosity to perpetrate crimes. Only then can we hope to reclaim our cities from the grasp of lawlessness.
