Illegal Immigrant Targets Jewish Man in Antisemitic Shooting

Under the Biden-Harris admin, illegal immigration and Antisemitism have become rampant, and now Jewish people are no longer safe on American soil.

In a chilling reminder of the dangers festering at the intersection of lax border control and rising Antisemitism, the recent shooting of an Orthodox Jewish man in Chicago starkly illustrates the consequences of the Biden-Harris administration‘s policies. The suspect, Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from northwest Africa, managed to slip through our southern border just a year and a half ago. This tragic event underscores not only the direct threat posed by unchecked immigration but also highlights how permissive attitudes from the left have emboldened anti-Israel sentiments, effectively importing and nurturing extremist ideologies right in our backyards.

The Jewish man, on his way to a synagogue in Chicago’s West Ridge neighborhood, was shot in the shoulder. And while paramedics and police responded, Abdallahi launched a brazen, dangerous assault on them, firing multiple shots at officers from various positions. As they took cover, returning fire only as necessary, the gunman reportedly yelled “Allahu Akbar,” a detail that authorities initially hesitated to confirm.

Abdallahi faces a long list of charges, including multiple counts of attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Yet, despite the clear Antisemitic overtones, hate crime charges were conspicuously absent—a glaring omission Alderwoman Debra Silverstein publicly criticized. She implored the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to prosecute to the full extent of the law, urging that additional charges, including hate crimes, be added. Her words resonate with the Jewish community, who are all too familiar with being targeted and are now forced to live under an even heavier cloud of anxiety.

Chicago Leaders Seem to Care More About the Criminal Than the Victim

What’s just as troubling is the hesitance of authorities, reportedly fearful of “Islamophobia” accusations, to investigate this as the hate crime it plainly appears to be. The FBI and Chicago Police reportedly have evidence of Abdallahi’s Antisemitic intentions but are dragging their feet, underscoring how political correctness is endangering the very people these officials are sworn to protect. When did protecting American citizens become secondary to appeasing ideological sensitivities?

Furthermore, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling, joined by city leaders, hesitated at Monday’s press conference, stating that Abdallahi’s immigration status was “still under investigation.” Yet, sources indicate that city officials were aware of his status long before he pulled the trigger, and many wonder why such a violent actor wasn’t apprehended sooner. The excuse? It might inflame racial or religious sensitivities. In reality, this is a symptom of a deeper failure—a refusal to prioritize American safety over the potential for ideological backlash.

It’s glaringly obvious that Chicago’s leaders prioritize the coddling of individuals like Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi and other illegal immigrants over combating Antisemitism and safeguarding our Jewish community. Their actions—or lack thereof—speak volumes, showing a disturbing commitment to preserving the image of these individuals at the expense of real, substantial community protection. This isn’t just negligence; it’s a willful disregard for the safety and well-being of Jewish Americans, sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.
