Biden Tells Israel’s Netanyahu to Just ‘Take the Win’ after Iranian Attack

America has an obligation to stand with Israel. Our shared values and our commitment to democracy bind us together.

In a world that increasingly blurs the lines between friend and foe, President Joe Biden’s refusal to back an Israeli counterstrike against Iran sends a chilling message. In a recent call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden essentially tied Israel’s hands behind its back following Iran’s brazen attack—launching over a hundred ballistic missiles and a swarm of drones in a direct assault from Iranian soil.

Yet, Biden‘s advice to Netanyahu was to “take the win,” as if survival without retribution is victory enough in the face of aggression. This stance is not just disappointing; it’s dangerous. It undermines the very foundation of our long-standing alliance with Israel, a beacon of democracy in a region overshadowed by despotism and terror. Iran’s audacity to strike directly at Israel, coupled with its relentless support for proxy militias like Hamas and Hezbollah, underscores a growing threat—one that won’t be contained to the Middle East.

The United States has a moral and strategic obligation to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel. Our shared values, our commitment to democracy, and our unyielding defiance against terror bind us. Biden’s refusal to support an Israeli counterattack not only emboldens Iran and its proxy armies but signals a worrisome shift in U.S. foreign policy—one that could have grave implications for our allies worldwide.

Israel’s restraint in the face of such provocation is not a sign of weakness but of strategic patience. Yet, patience has its limits. Benny Gantz, a key figure in Israel’s unity government, has rightly pointed out the necessity of building a regional coalition to hold Iran accountable. The time for decisive action is now, not just for Israel’s sake but for the stability of the entire region and the safety of the world.

The United States must reassert its role as a global leader, ready to defend democracy, uphold our alliances, and confront aggression with unwavering resolve. Anything less is a disservice to the principles we hold dear and a dangerous underestimation of the threats we face. In solidarity with Israel, we must send a clear message: aggression will be met with strength, alliances with loyalty, and terror with justice.
