Democrat-Run AZ and CA Are Hotspots for Illegal Immigration

Republican leadership and anti-illegal immigration strategies are working for Texas. Now, liberal Arizona and California are the new hotspots.

The data coming out of Texas paints a clear picture: the tough stance on illegal immigration under Republican leadership is yielding significant results. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the number of encounters with suspected illegal migrants across five key regions of Texas saw a marked decline in the fiscal year 2024 up through March, in stark contrast to the rising numbers in Democrat-led Arizona and California.

Under the leadership of Governor Greg Abbott, Texas has taken proactive steps to stem the tide of illegal border crossings. Measures like deploying National Guard troops and installing razor wire barriers have been part of a broader initiative, known as Operation Lone Star, launched in 2021 to secure the Texas border. These efforts are showing tangible results: encounters in regions like El Paso, Big Bend, Del Rio, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley have plummeted.

Conversely, both Arizona and California, with Democrat governors at the helm, are witnessing increases in illegal migrant encounters. In Arizona’s Tucson sector, encounters rose by 23.7%, while California’s San Diego sector saw a surge of 45.1%. These numbers highlight the issue of the safety, security, and economic well-being of American citizens. Texas’s aggressive border security measures are proving that firm, decisive action can make a difference. Meanwhile, Arizona and California’s rising numbers serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of inadequate border control and Democratic leadership.

The situation also underscores a broader national debate intensified by former President Donald Trump, who continues to advocate for stricter immigration controls as a cornerstone of his platform for a potential second term in the White House. The disparity between Republican and Democrat-led states in managing border security is becoming increasingly apparent, and as we head toward another election, it’s a poignant reminder of the stark differences in policy and effectiveness.

As Republican states like Texas demonstrate that it is possible to manage and significantly reduce illegal crossings, Democrat states provide a cautionary tale of what happens when border policies are not enforced rigorously. It’s a simple truth: when states take strong measures to secure their borders, illegal crossings go down. When they do not, our communities pay the price. It’s high time for America to wake up to this reality. If we continue on a path that doesn’t respect and uphold our laws, we’re not just risking our current way of life — we’re compromising our nation’s future.
