Homeland Security Secretary Plays Dumb About Immigration

Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed to be unaware of the rate of illegal immigrants being released at the border during a hearing.

Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the man steering the ship at Homeland Security, was caught dodging and weaving through questions like a seasoned politician on Capitol Hill. When confronted with a damning report that he himself supposedly admitted to a staggering 85% release rate of illegal immigrants caught at our borders, he played the amnesia card.

Republicans pushed Mayorkas on the matter during a hearing focused on Homeland Security’s budget for the coming fiscal year. Mayorkas’s response? A masterclass in deflection, claiming ignorance about the specific conversation and suggesting the reported number didn’t ring any bells. But here’s where it gets rich: a Homeland Security official tried to smooth things over by saying that releasing non-citizens who “pose no threat” while their immigration proceedings dangle in the balance is par for the course. This has supposedly been the practice under both Republican and Democratic administrations to prevent overcrowding and maintain health and safety.

Yet, what Mayorkas and his department seem to miss is the blatant disregard for the rule of law this practice exemplifies. It’s a slap in the face to every American citizen and legal immigrant who plays by the rules. It’s clear as day: the system is broken, but not in the way Mayorkas claims. It’s broken because those at the helm are steering us into chaos, prioritizing illegal entrants over the safety and well-being of American citizens and those who wish to come here legally.

Mayorkas makes it painfully obvious that this administration’s approach to illegal immigration is as soft as overcooked noodles. To them, the safety and rule of law that Americans hold dear are merely obstacles in their quest for political gain. This isn’t just reckless; it’s a game of Russian roulette with the very fabric of our nation. Calling it like it is, Mayorkas is acting like a coward, refusing to confront the harsh realities his policies are creating.

America can’t stand idly by while its principles are trampled underfoot. It’s high time we demanded action, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to the laws that ensure our nation remains a beacon of hope, not a doormat for those who wish to bypass the proper channels. Enough with the dodging; it’s time for Mayorkas and his cohorts to face the music.
