Trump’s New Fan? Zuckerberg to Throw Inauguration Party, Kills DEI at Meta

The actions taken by Zuckerberg signal a new era for tech that focuses on free speech and merit, but will they remain after Trump's presidency?

In a move that has created a seismic shift in Silicon Valley’s political winds, Meta has joined Amazon in jettisoning its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. This action signals a potential alignment with the resurgent right under President-elect Donald Trump. It seems Mark Zuckerberg, often vilified by conservatives as the poster child for tech censorship and liberal bias, might be charting a new course toward the right.

Just days before announcing this policy overhaul, Zuckerberg declared an end to Meta’s oppressive fact-checking regime—a change that echoes Elon Musk’s strategy at X, prioritizing free speech over curated narratives. Zuckerberg, during a revelatory appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, disclosed how the Biden administration pressured him into censoring voices during the COVID-19 pandemic. These revelations are telling, hinting at a Zuckerberg weary of the left’s coercive tactics and ready to embrace a freer discourse.

Zuckerberg’s next steps? He’s diving headfirst into Trump’s upcoming festivities, reportedly co-hosting a pre-inaugural ball reception with some of the GOP’s financial heavyweights. This isn’t just a polite nod to the incoming administration; it’s a full embrace of the political shift that Trump’s victory represents.

Yet, skepticism remains. Is Zuckerberg’s pivot a genuine rededication to free speech and conservative values, or is it a strategic play to curry favor with the Trump administration? Only time will reveal the authenticity of Zuckerberg’s new stance.

However, if these changes stick, and Zuckerberg continues to distance himself from the coercive tactics of the left, we could be witnessing the dawn of a new era in Big Tech—an era where free speech and merit lead the way, and where Silicon Valley moguls like Zuckerberg stand alongside Musk not just in innovation, but in their support for a Trump-led revival of American greatness.
