Trump’s DEI Takedown Leaves Woke Department of Interior Stunned

The Department of the Interior, previously one of the wokest corners of the government, has found itself squarely in the crosshairs of Trump's new directive.

President Donald Trump’s re-entry into the White House has ushered in a tidal wave of much-needed changes, and his latest executive order, which eradicates DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) from government, is a testament to his commitment to ending the radical and wasteful ideologies that have infiltrated our federal agencies. The Department of the Interior, previously one of the wokest corners of the government, has found itself squarely in the crosshairs of this new directive.

Right after taking office, Trump signed the executive order titled “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing and Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions.” The Office of Personnel Management wasted no time, sending out memos to agency heads to cut out the DEI cancer.

Acting Secretary of the Interior Walter Cruickshank’s directive was clear: shut down all agency DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) offices and terminate all related contracts. Cruickshank’s words were unambiguous, labeling the DEI agenda as divisive, wasteful of taxpayer money, and shamefully discriminatory.

The purge at the Interior is not just a bureaucratic reshuffle; it’s a critical reorientation towards efficiency and unity. This move echoes Trump’s broader agenda to dismantle the politically charged, divisive policies that have seeped into government under the guise of progressivism.

The Department had gone as far as celebrating “Transgender Day of Visibility” with a documentary about queer inclusion in marine biology—this, in a department vital to managing our nation’s natural resources. Further, an absurd internal document urged employees to avoid basic familial terms like “husband” or “son” in favor of gender-neutral language, and even advocated for the use of singular “they” to avoid assuming someone’s gender.

These actions did nothing but foster an environment of tip-toeing around common sense, under the heavy hand of ideological enforcement rather than fostering genuine inclusivity.

President Trump’s clampdown on these radical ideologies represents not just a policy shift but a restoration of sanity in our government. It’s a declaration that America’s government is no place for untested, divisive social experiments that have more to do with political correctness than with effective governance.

As Trump’s administration pushes forward, it’s clear that the age of pandering to the whims of the woke is over. It’s about time we returned to policies that prioritize the well-being and unity of all Americans, not just a vocal few. This isn’t just about removing a few training programs; it’s about reclaiming the narrative that government is, first and foremost, of the people, by the people, and for the people.
