President Biden’s Son and Brother Subpoenaed by House Oversight Committee
The House Oversight Committee has issued subpoenas to Hunter Biden, his uncle James Biden, and their former business associate, Rob Walker. This move is aimed at shedding light on the foreign business dealings of the Biden family, a matter that has raised questions in the past.
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer asserted, “The House Oversight Committee has followed the money and built a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his family’s influence-peddling schemes. Now, the House Oversight Committee is going to bring in members of the Biden family and their associates to question them on this record of evidence.” Comer further emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability for the American people.
One of the key points of contention is the significant amount of money the Biden family and their associates reportedly earned from countries like Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania, and Kazakhstan between 2014 and 2019, totaling more than $24 million. These foreign business dealings have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the influence they may have exerted on U.S. interests.
The Oversight Committee has also requested the testimony of other members of the Biden family and associates, including James Biden’s wife, Sara Biden, Hunter Biden’s ex-lover, Hallie Biden, former business associate Tony Bobulinski, Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen, and Hallie Biden’s sister, Elizabeth Secundy.
One significant revelation from the Oversight Committee’s investigation is the $200,000 payment James Biden sent to Joe Biden in March 2018, coinciding with a loan to Americore, a distressed healthcare company. James Biden allegedly used his last name to suggest he could open doors and secure a Middle East investment, which has raised concerns about the influence and connections leveraged for financial gain.
Additionally, the Oversight Committee uncovered bank records showing a $40,000 check from Sara Biden to Joe Biden in September 2017, closely following a flow of money from China into Hunter Biden and James Biden’s bank accounts. The White House has defended these payments as loan repayments from Joe’s brother, but the exact nature of these transactions remains under scrutiny.
A particularly significant revelation from the bank records is the flow of $3 million from Chinese firm State Energy HK to Rob Walker in 2017. Walker then reportedly channeled approximately $1 million into Biden family accounts and another $1 million to a company associated with James Gilliar. This raises questions about the connections between the Biden family and Chinese businesses, especially considering that Chinese associates had met with Joe Biden after his vice presidency concluded.
Another point of concern is the creation of more than 20 shell companies by the Biden family and its business associates as part of their business enterprise. Many of these companies were established as LLCs during Joe Biden’s vice presidency, which has raised questions about potential conflicts of interest during his time in office.
The Oversight Committee’s subpoenas are aimed at bringing greater transparency to these matters, ensuring that the American people have access to the information they deserve regarding their leaders and their actions.
