Former NY Governor Aide Accused of Being Chinese Foreign Agent

Linda Sun, former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul, acted as a Chinese foreign agent, trading national security and interests for mansions and cars.

It’s yet another day in the saga of New York politics, where the line between governance and malfeasance becomes increasingly blurry. Linda Sun, a former aide to both Governor Kathy Hochul and the scandal-ridden Governor Andrew Cuomo, was arrested alongside her husband on charges astonishing in both scope and audacity. They stand accused of acting as foreign agents for China, exchanging state secrets for kickbacks so lavish it’d make a mob boss blush—think millions in shady deals and luxury splurges like a $4 million mansion and Ferraris.

In a tale that reads like a spy thriller, Sun allegedly transformed the New York governor’s office into a puppet platform for Chinese propaganda, directly contradicting American interests and values. Her manipulation was so severe that during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Taiwan generously sent 200,000 masks to New York, Sun managed to block any official acknowledgment or meetings with Taiwan, bending over backward to please her handlers in Beijing.

Sun Exchanged National Security for China Cash

This indictment pulls back the curtain on just how deeply foreign influence has burrowed into our state governance, with Sun gleefully blocking discussions on sensitive topics like the persecution of Uyghurs in her efforts to sanitize China’s global image. It’s a gross betrayal of every democratic principle we hold dear, executed under the noses of Hochul and Cuomo, who either knew or should have known about the wolf in their midst.

Both Sun and her husband, Christopher Hu, pled not guilty, but the evidence as laid out is damning—a detailed operation involving visa fraud, money laundering, and direct collusion with foreign powers to influence American policies and state actions.

The real kicker? This couple lived a life of opulence on the backs of New York taxpayers and possibly at the cost of national security. This scandal is a stark illustration of how deeply foreign influence can penetrate our systems, masquerading as diplomacy while pilfering our nation’s secrets and integrity.
