In what can only be described as a distressing embrace of lawlessness, the Democratic Party’s platform has openly advocated for the US Citizenship Act—a radical piece of legislation that the Trump campaign accurately criticizes as an “amnesty bill.” This bill threatens to grant automatic citizenship and social security numbers to millions of undocumented individuals which would alarmingly include criminals, human traffickers, and gang members who have violated our borders and laws.
The Democrats‘ plan is cloaked in the language of compassion and modernization, claiming that our immigration system, last updated in 1990, no longer meets the needs of our 21st-century society. They argue that long waiting periods for lawful immigration necessitate a reformed, robust system with “accessible lawful pathways.”. However, their proposed U.S. Citizenship Act would drastically increase both family-sponsored and employment-based immigration, without adequate safeguards to prevent abuse.
This proposal stands in stark contrast to former President Trump‘s robust stance on immigration, which prioritized securing our borders and executing the largest lawful deportation operation in U.S. history to remove those who are here illegally. Trump’s policies were focused on protecting American workers, reducing illegal immigration, and ensuring that immigrants enter the country legally and respectfully, adhering to the processes established by law.
What’s particularly insidious about the Democratic strategy is the implication that flooding the country with illegal immigrants could be a deliberate move to justify mass amnesty later on. Such tactics undermine the rule of law and disrespect the millions of immigrants who have waited patiently for their chance to become Americans legally.
It’s time for our government to redirect its focus. Instead of laying out the welcome mat for illegal activity and those who would exploit our borders, why aren’t we investing these resources into our own citizens, veterans, and the low-income families who are already here and in need? This misguided prioritization does not just erode the integrity of our immigration system; it betrays every American who believes in the rule of law.
As Harris continues to push for this radical amnesty, one must question: To whose benefit? Certainly not to the hardworking American citizen or the legal immigrant who plays by the rules. It’s a policy that serves political interests, not the public interest, and it’s high time we call it out for what it is: a direct assault on the principles that uphold our nation’s sovereignty and security.
