China’s New AI App DeepSeek Is Worse Than You Think

DeepSeek is more than just biased—it's a data conduit straight to China, potentially funneling more American information to the CCP than even TikTok.

The latest AI escapade, the Chinese app DeepSeek, has shown its true colors, and they are distinctly red—the color of the Chinese Communist Party. DeepSeek serves up responses that reek of CCP propaganda, blatantly sidestepping any real talk about Taiwan or Tiananmen Square. But it’s more than just biased—it’s a veritable data conduit straight to China, potentially funneling more American information to the CCP than even TikTok. This isn’t just an issue of skewed AI; it’s a national security concern, feeding data directly into the hands of a regime that opposes everything we stand for.

DeepSeek’s biased behavior isn’t just problematic—it’s a glaring example of how the CCP continues to manipulate technology to serve its own ends, bending the digital world to its authoritarian will. What’s even more alarming is DeepSeek’s outright refusal to answer questions on human rights, along with other sensitive subjects the CCP finds inconvenient, like the real story of Tiananmen Square.

This AI isn’t a tool; it’s a weapon. On January 27, when DeepSeek soared to the top of the App Store, surpassing ChatGPT, it signaled a disturbing shift. Here’s an AI application, born from a regime steeped in censorship and repression, gaining traction on American soil. And what does it bring to the table? A cost-effective, energy-efficient model that’s primed to sway the AI market—and not in favor of free speech or truth.

The shockwaves from DeepSeek’s emergence have rattled the stock market too, casting doubt on the heavy investments U.S. tech giants have poured into AI development. Firms like Nvidia felt the sting immediately. It begs the question: Are we watching the beginning of a technological Cold War, where AI tools become pawns in a game of global dominance?

The rise of DeepSeek is a stark reminder of what happens when technology meets totalitarianism. As President Trump steps into office, promising to reign in China’s economic manipulations and IP theft—a legacy of underhanded tactics long ignored or inadequately challenged by previous administrations—we must stay vigilant.

We need an AI that reflects our values and protects us, not one that’s programmed against us. America must lead in ensuring that our technological advancements champion freedom and truth, not suppress them. As we stand at the crossroads of a new era, let’s choose the path of integrity and ensure that technology in our hands serves to uphold our liberties, not erode them.
