Biden’s Office Exchanged Thousands of Emails with Hunter’s Investment Firm
The tangled web of connections between the Biden family and their business dealings continues to raise eyebrows. In a recent court filing, it was revealed that Joe Biden’s Vice Presidential office exchanged a significant number of emails with Hunter Biden’s investment firm and with Hunter himself. Nearly 20,000 emails were exchanged with Hunter Biden’s investment firm, and close to 5,000 emails with Hunter Biden directly. This revelation comes as part of an ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by the America First Legal Foundation and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
The court filing disclosed, “NARA has found 4,243 emails to/from Hunter Biden; 19,335 emails to/from the domains @rosemontseneca.com and @senecaga.com; 1,751 emails to/from Jim Biden; and 3,738 emails to/from the domain @lionhallgp.com.” Rosemont Seneca was the investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden, and The Lion Hall Group was a company run by James Biden.
These numbers confirm the lack of separation between the Vice President’s office and Hunter Biden’s business ventures. It’s evident that there was extensive communication and collaboration between the two.
The House Oversight Committee has also taken an interest in the Biden family’s business dealings. They have subpoenaed personal and business bank records from Hunter Biden and James Biden. The Presidential Records Act allows Congress “special access” to archived records, which is being used to investigate these matters.
The Oversight Committee’s request for records from Hunter Biden’s business associates’ communications with Joe Biden’s Vice Presidential office revealed emails between Hunter’s business associate Eric Schwerin and Joe Biden’s then-communications staffer. These emails revolved around Hunter’s connection with Ukrainian energy firm Burisma and Joe Biden’s upcoming trip to Ukraine.
The Oversight Committee has made similar requests for records regarding Joe Biden’s pseudonyms used for government purposes and flights taken by Hunter Biden with his father on Air Force Two. These revelations cast doubt on Joe Biden’s promise of an “absolute wall” between his official duties and his family’s business dealings.
The Biden family has come under scrutiny for receiving over $24 million from individuals and companies linked to several countries, including Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania, and Kazakhstan. House Oversight Chairman James Comer revealed that this information was discovered from suspicious activity reports sent by banks to the Treasury Department.
This latest disclosure underscores the need to closely examine the ties between Biden and those making payments to his relatives. The American people deserve answers and clarity regarding the potential conflicts of interest and the extent to which these dealings may have influenced decisions made by the Vice President and now the President of the United States.
