Biden Plans to Sanction Orthodox Unit of Israel Defense Forces

Biden's planned sanctions on the IDF is a clear political move, pandering to the Hamas sympathizers and Antisemites in the Democrat party.

In an extremely alarming move, Joe Biden is set to impose sanctions on a Jewish Orthodox unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Netzah Yehuda battalion, under the guise of addressing “human rights violations” in Judea and Samaria. This unprecedented decision signals a distressing shift in U.S. policy, one that seems to pander to the Antisemitic elements within the Democrat party who have unfairly criticized Israel’s defensive actions against the barbarity of Hamas terrorists.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s pending announcement of these sanctions marks a first in the history of U.S.-Israel relations, specifically targeting an IDF battalion for sanctions, thereby severing it from any U.S. military assistance or training. This could severely impair the battalion, which allows those of the Jewish Orthodox faith to serve while observing their religious practices.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly opposed this action, pledging to robustly defend the IDF and its soldiers against such external pressures. Biden’s sanction is a clear political move as the Netzah Yehuda battalion operates within the confines of military and international law, under the oversight of Israel’s independent judicial system which rigorously investigates any claims of misconduct.

The Biden administration not only sets a dangerous precedent but also sends a chilling message to our allies and foes alike. Under Biden’s leadership, our enemies no longer fear us and our allies no longer trust us. At a time when global unity and resolve are more critical than ever, such measures only serve to embolden those who oppose democratic values and seek to destabilize the region.

Moreover, this action starkly illustrates a troubling alignment with the more radical, Antisemitic sentiments that have found a foothold in American politics. It’s a stark betrayal of the principles of fairness and support that should define the U.S.-Israel alliance, showing a disturbing tolerance for those who directly and indirectly support groups like Hamas.

As this concerning situation develops, it is a poignant reminder of the need for a strong and consistent foreign policy that supports our allies unequivocally. Sanctioning the Netzah Yehuda battalion not only undermines these principles but also dishonors the longstanding commitment to mutual respect and support that has characterized U.S.-Israel relations. This decision should be reversed if Biden is truly against the ferocious attacks against Israel.
