Planet Fitness Gets Taste of Their Own Medicine, Stock Plummets

The "no judgement" gym lost almost half a billion after passing judgement on a member who said enough to men in the women's locker room.

Planet Fitness welcomes everyone in their gym unless you try to exercise your right to privacy. This is the hard lesson learned by an Alaskan woman, Patricia Silva, whose gym membership was unceremoniously terminated after she dared to question the presence of a biological male in the women’s locker room.

Planet Fitness likes to tout itself as a “no judgment zone,” or at least that’s the line they fed Silva. Yet, when individuals armed with common sense dare to challenge the creeping tide of woke ideology invading American businesses, they are met with swift judgment. This was precisely Silva’s experience. But, as fate would have it, Planet Fitness received a dose of its own medicine. There have been numerous accounts of men, identifying as transgender, making their way into women’s locker rooms and receiving defense from Planet Fitness. As a result, it seems the company is going to self-identify as a “profit-free zone.” Over just five days, the company’s valuation took a $400 million nosedive.

Yet, in the face of mounting criticism, Planet Fitness has doubled down on its mixed-sex policy, stubbornly refusing to acknowledge the discomfort this might cause its members. According to their operational manual, feeling uneasy is not sufficient grounds to restrict access to a transgender member. This stance not only highlights a blatant disregard for member privacy and safety concerns but also underscores a broader issue at play: the relentless push of woke policies at the expense of common sense and the well-being of the majority.

This situation with Planet Fitness is a concerning reminder of the direction in which unchecked wokeness is steering our society and businesses. It’s a direction marked by a disconnect from the values and concerns of average Americans, a path that inevitably leads to backlash and loss. As this gym chain grapples with the financial fallout from its policies, one hopes it serves as a cautionary tale for other businesses tempted to prioritize ideological adherence over the genuine concerns of their customers.

The American people have spoken with a voice that rings with clarity and conviction: safeguard our privacy, uphold our values, and ensure our safety, or brace for the fallout. It’s about time corporations grasped that their longevity hinges not on pandering to the whims of a vocal minority obsessed with political correctness but on heeding the principles of decency that resonate with the everyday person. We must not allow the demands of the few to trample the rights of the many.
